2nd Annual Back to School Summer Festival

2026 Back-to-School Summer Festival

Kindle Community Incorporated, in partnership with the Ossining Youth Bureau and Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, helped bring the community together for our 2nd Annual Back-to-School Summer Festival at Nelson Park.

This year, we distributed more than 450 backpacks filled with school supplies and more than 350 pairs of sneakers, helping local students prepare for the upcoming school year. The festival welcomed more than 1,000 people to the park and featured 20+ vendors and community partners from across Westchester County and multiple sectors, connecting families with resources, services, and opportunities.

The day also featured a basketball tournament where local youth played against the Ossining Police Department, creating an opportunity for positive interaction, connection, and community building. Families also enjoyed free food and an ice cream truck, adding to the fun and welcoming atmosphere of the festival.

We were honored to recognize community leaders and youth advocates with proclamations, including Ernest McFadden Director of the Westchester County Youth Bureau, Aiden Mendez, MBK Fellow, and Matt Gullotta Founder of Gullotta House.

The 2026 festival was also featured on News 12, highlighting the collective work of community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and partners who came together to support local families and students.

The festival reflects what Kindle Community is about: wellness education, belonging, and creating equitable access to resources and opportunities that help people thrive.
